The Garifuna Cultural Center of Los Angeles (Gari CCLA), established in 2026, is a community-rooted institution dedicated to the preservation, education, and advancement of Garifuna culture, rooted in Los Angeles and connected to the broader Garifuna diaspora.

Grounded in community and guided by a commitment to cultural integrity, Gari CCLA works to build a sustainable institution that supports programming, archival development, and cultural education.

Our mission is to ensure that Garifuna history, language, and traditions are not only preserved, but actively lived, shared, and passed forward across generations.

Through this work, we aim to create a lasting cultural presence that reflects the strength, resilience, and continuity of the Garifuna people—both locally and globally.
